Fin

So if you haven't figured out yet, our group has been blogging to inspire you all to reach higher and dream bigger.

It's time to go!

Just kidding! I still have more to write!

I've learned so much from this exercise, and wanted to share a last few words of wisdom to you all.
  • Like a lot of my friends said…blogging is hard. It's difficult writing about something you are passionate about but keeping it short enough for the attention spans of readers…if you think about it…this may be too long!
  • You really can do anything….when thinking about schools to write about, I listened to the stories of a lot of my friends at different universities and found no single way to a top tier institution. As long as you put your nose to the grindstone, anything is possible. I would recommend reading up on a few colleges, and then applying to the ones you can see yourself! College is amazing. Do not do anything less!
  • Againkeep reaching for the stars! College is not the end, and you have the rest of your life to do great things. Find a few role models. There are plenty inspiring people in politics, teaching at your schools, and in your own family! Look at their paths to success, emulate them and surpass them
Hope you enjoyed our posts! But now it is time to log out! Good luck with everything

College Spotlight: Wellsely

To be quite honest, some of my favorite memories have been at all women's colleges. Even though I am a guy, some of my best friends have attended Wellesley College. The Harvard of women's college, the education there cannot be beat!

My friends are able to take classes at nearby Harvard and MIT all while coming back home to a cozy college with all of their girls. When you visit this college, you can feel the knowledge and confidence radiating off these women. The best part though….are the buffet style food courts located in many of the dorms :D!

I have seen so many amazing opportunities that my girlfriends have recieved by attending this college. Foreign study programs, amazing art programs, and unrivaled tradition to boot!

Quick shout out though…Hillary Clinton went to school here,….if that gives you an idea of what a woman can achieve at this school!

Food For Thought: DC

If you ever find yourself going to one of the amazing School's DC has to offer, do not miss out on the amazing opportunities of food trucks!

Over this summer, I spent my summer interning on the Hill and fell in love with all the food that DC had to offer. Georgetown, American University and George Washington are such amazing schools! If you attend you will find yourself surrounded by a great nightlife and intelligent peers. You will also find that internships are available by the bucketful!

Besides this….the food trucks are to die for! They have gyro, shawarma, and cupcakes! My favorite
though are the korean taco trucks! Bulgogi, kimchi, and a tortilla….what more can a foodie ask for!

Apply to DC! You won't regret it!

Watch how you ACT

Good Morning Blogosphere! Right now, I am on experiencing the tundra that is the Northeast and am trying my best to stay inside to keep warm.

Today I would like to give a little advice that I found important when getting ready for college. When it comes to standardized testing, one exam is not right for everyone! Personally, I hated the SAT and loved the ACT and SAT subject tests. When it came to testing, I felt the ACT and subject tests tested material that I learned in the classes I took in school. For me the SAT was like a puzzle.

My advice is, try them all, find what you like best, and you do well!

Inspiration for Sunday Workday.

If you are on the internet right now looking at our blog, you are probably doing what I am….Procrastinating.

I just wanted to give a little advice for the college application process. Everyone tells you that you must be in a sport, must play an instrument, and be in every club to get into the college of your dreams.
I want to let you know that is completely false.

Do what makes you happy and work your hardest at that. Get good grades, of course. But don't join clubs you don't enjoy….because that is a waste of the precious time you have in life to do what you love.

Start an traditional irish step club, create an origami society, start a campus beautification project. That is what my friends did and they all got into college!

How do you get here!!!

So, we have been getting a number of viewers contacting us asking how we got here. So I decided to talk about easily the worst part of the teenage years. Beyond acne, beyond braces, and yes even beyond that awkward crush on that kid in math class…..the SAT is what my teenage nightmares were made of.

Don't worry though it is not impossible to do well! Just practice, practice, practice!! :)

So to help out with this, I added a widget on the upper right side of the page that will give you daily vocabulary. The more you see different vocabulary words, the more you easily you will be able to score well on the reading portion of the test!

Just scroll over "How to get Here" on the upper right of the page and start studying!

Food for Thought: Mike's Pastries

Before making the long bus ride up to school I always make a pitstop in one of my favorite cities….Boston. My draw to Boston for it's amazing history and culturel is even more enhanced by the fact that Boston has more reputable colleges surrounding it than any other city in the World! Naturally the young adult network there is bar none. A good amount of friends from high school attend colleges there and we always make sure to satisfy our sweet-tooths. So, when I arrive in town my friends from Wellesley College ( a small women's college) always insist on going to Mike's Pastry

Mike's Pastry is located in the North-End of Boston…or Little Italy! When you enter the shop, be aware of the crowds, while your eyes glisten and mouth water over the pastries, you will easily lose your friends in the mob.
When you finally get a cannoli in your hand you will find the marscapone rich and a crust with a perfect flake.

Venture to the North End and order the chocolate chip! You won't regret it!

Introduction: Francis

Hey y’all! My name is Francis. For nineteen years I called the sunny and ever warm Southwest home. Now I am attending a small liberal arts college in New England. Before, you ask, yes! The cold is definitely something I had to get used to, but surprisingly getting used to a lifestyle subsistent on J. Crew and Bean boots was a lot more difficult. I am a sophomore now and cannot imagine being at any other college. I am a government major and biology minor. On campus, I am involved in programs that help promote a comfortable environment for racial minorities and LGBTQA identified students. Other than academia I am a foodie, enjoy fashion and love healthy living. I can’t wait to tell you the ins and outs of college on this blog!
